Contents of the IAAT, Astronomy, IDL Library

The aitlib is a set of IDL subroutines written by members of the Institut für Astronomie und Astrophysik, Abt. Astronomie, of the University of Tübingen, Germany, with improvements from people from JILA, University of Colorado, Boulder, MIT, Boston, and CASS, UCSD, San Diego.

Currently, subroutines from the following broad categories are available:

fitsHigh-level FITS routines, e.g., reading of X-ray astronomical file formats

rxteSubroutines to analyze RXTE data

xspecRoutines to help with XSPEC output (X-ray spectral analysis)

Please feel free to use these routines in your IDL programs. We would appreciate hearing from outside users using the subroutines. We would greatly appreciate your sending of improvements on the subroutines as well as bug-reports. Please send your comments to Jörn Wilms or the person responsible for the individual subroutine as indicated in the program code.
