Abstract. Spectroscopic EUV data are used as an observational basis to test chemically stratified, self-consistently constructed non-LTE stellar atmosphere models as presented elsewhere in these proceedings for hot DA white dwarfs. New parameters are being derived for the sample stars and successfully interpreted within the framework of diffusion theory. This is in fact the first time that equilibrium abundance calculations are found to be in good agreement with observations for a large sample.
