A new period for the magnetic white dwarf KPD0253+5052

Abstract. We present phaseresolved circular polarisation measurements of the rotating magnetic white dwarf KPD0253+5052. A new and more accurate period of (3.79 +/- 0.05)h for KPD0253+5052 could be determined by measuring the broadband polarisation in the H_beta and H_gamma lines derived from medium resolution (about 5 Â FWHM) spectropolarimetric data at different phases.
