Abstract. O(He) stars are unique amongst the hottest post-AGB stars because their atmospheres are composed of almost pure helium. We present a spectral analysis of HST/COS UV observations by means of NLTE model-atmosphere techniques and discuss their status in the hydrogen-deficient post-AGB evolutionary sequence and in the double-degenerate merger scenario.
