The Dew Point

Apart from the temperature measured at the institute the temperature plots also give the temperature of the dew point (the green line). Foggy conditions are to be expected if the current temperature is below this temperature.

The computation of the dew point temperature follows the canadian atmospheric environment service guidelines for co-operative climatological autostations, version 2.0, by using formula given by O. Tetens (1930, Z. Geophys., 6, 297):

where a=7.5, b=237.3, RH is the relative humidity (expressed in percent), and T the current air temperature (measured in centigrade).
